Viseu

Located between 400 and 700 m above sea level, Viseu, in Beira Alta, is a must-see. It makes us miss the delicious cuisine, restores our health in the spas, encourages us to observe urban art for free and makes us feel proud when we taste the Dão Wines, produced here.

Surrounded by several mountains and rivers, its location is very central on the map and has been considered one of the best cities to live in.

Throughout this city with Roman, medieval and Jewish influences, you can follow the beautiful Roman walls, built in stone and in a continuous manner, today still possible to admire in two or three isolated areas: the Knights’ Gate, the Lady’s Gate do Postigo and Porta do Soar or São Francisco.
